NXCoupe's Shop Build

Wow, you are really rocking and rolling on the walls. Looks fantastic!
Thanks! I'm getting better, but still not house quality quite yet. Still a lot more walls to do, so I'll get better, lol. Thanks for the props!

your end result looks good, I been a drywall contractor and builder for 30+ years. Keep it from freezing, if there is any moisture in the walls when if freezes, it will expand the seams and cause the tape to pop and crack. Drywall is like a sponge so high humidity or pulling in thawing out a vehicle will cause the absorption. Carry on!

Thanks Don! I have found that out the hard way. I am not doing any taping or mudding until spring. From this point forward, I am just doing walls and hanging drywall. It'll keep the heat in and get us a head start for finishing up in the springtime. It has to get done this winter/spring. It sucks up way too much time and money, and I need to get back to customer work to pay for all this. Lol.

Im jealous

Of the shop. But not the weather and the delays it causes
Agree 100% I am moving to the other side to finish the first floor walls, so we can put the joists in, and the flooring for the second floor and finally, the ceiling for the second floor so I can finally turn on the heat and it not go through the roof.

Well, my friend Bill was finally able to come over and help me get going on the walls. We started with the east and north walls since they are pretty straight forward. I put some 2x4s above the man door and sprayed foam to seal all the gaps around the door frame and the scallops in the bottom of the sheetmetal walls. Hoping to get more done tomorrow.

We didn't put the insulation in because we still need to run wires for outlets and the lights in the office and bathroom.
