Oak island

They're finally sending a robot into one of those big caissons to explore underground. I don't know why Jack Begley hasn't been lowered into one all these years because I certainly would have.
Probably because he's a producer and that goofy metal detecting clown's son in law, who now brought his daughter in to make sure she gets rich too.

If there are any Jesuit Priests attached to the legend, the gold has already been whisked away.

A classic.

Consider this; the show is filmed a year ahead of time. If they ever find anything of substance you'll hear about it in the news.
Agreed! That would be a tough secret to keep if they ever find anything.

I watch, but often just fast forward thru it. I'm really tired of the repeated history lessons every week.

As for the treasure, nobody seems concerned that former island resident Samual Ball, a former slave, died one of the richest men in the province. So he found whatever was there already. The money pit area was completely excavated in the 1960s and a giant, deep trench opened with no results. Then all the earth just bulldozed into the trench. So all that wood and random stuff they are finding are just jumbled around underground. It's all disturbed ground.

The real treasure of Oak Island is the money the TV show is pumping into it. I have friends in Nova Scotia and I have asked them what they think about it. They say it's a joke and people up there don't take it seriously.

I found myself glued to an episode yesterday for some crazy reason....too tired from work outside I guess. I was absolutely in a trance when they said there was something under the dirt near the Money Pit. Turns out it was a button.

I got really excited when the XRF machine came out to play..... traces of gold & silver.....imagine that. :p

If I wasn't so sore from weed-spraying all morning I would have kicked myself for watching it.

they are always amazed to find stuff on an island that was a major hub of sea traffic for a couple hundred years... Ohhhh someone dropped a coin 200 years ago!! it's a clue!

The one that really turned me off of the show was in the first or second season, back when they were really hammering the Knights Templar thing. They are digging, and there’s a million freaking rocks. There is one rock that they are convinced is pointing in a specific direction; it could only be a clue. ****, there’s literally a million rocks there. You could pick one that points in any direction you want.

I like watching Blind Frog Ranch ....just the same pattern but a different location. Spoiler alert - I don't think they find anything too significant either.
Anyway, the episode I watched on Saturday was where they discover an old mine shaft (cave) and it turns out to give clues as to a string of abandoned Mormon gold mines in the Uinta Basin. Histrorically very interesting, but gold finding not so much. The clues eventually lead the guys to a cave which proves to reinforce the stories and the books in the library archives.....so I'm staying tuned for next week, when the team hopefully unload the motherlode.
I do like the characters at Blind Frog...at least they are interesting while in their pursuit of a big sack of nothing.

The comments on a link I followed for the show just killed it for me....

There is a deep, deep tunnel that goes from Oak Island to the base of the Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt.

I think Hannibal constructed that after finishing his crossing of the Pyrenees back in 218 BC.

You can tell by the large deposits of fossilized elephant dung along the way.

Haven't watched in years. Moonshiners is my fake reality show these days. Research for my retirement gig.
