Just finished a book "Charlie Chaplin vs America". The guy was pretty much f@cked over by McCarthyism.
Watched his last few films over the last week or so. Modern Times, The Great Dictator, Limelight. Worth the time. He for sure had a massive impact on the film industry from its genesis.

Watched his last few films over the last week or so. Modern Times, The Great Dictator, Limelight. Worth the time. He for sure had a massive impact on the film industry from its genesis.

Modern Times is a great film.Chaplin Influenced so many in the film industry,including Mel Brooks,Gene Wilder and Jerry Lewis. Lewis was a huge fan of Chaplins and he discusses him in his book "The Total Filmmaker". (A fantastic book).
Modern Times is also where the song "smile" came from that Nat King Cole had a big hit with in 1954.
