Opinion question about paint quality

I am comparing the durability between rattle cans, sold in the correct colors needed for mopar restoration and matching colors from a autobody supply store. Which paint is recommended for durability? The rattle cans are convenient but is it durable?

When we redid the engine compartment on my Dart 8 years ago, we used urathane with hardener..no rattle can stuff.

I did mine ,didnt use the rattle can ,I useed Neson paint and the hardner ,from the paint supply company.A little more money but worth it

Thank you for your replies, OK, the body colors in the engine compartment on the above jobs look great and that should be done as the body with two stage, but your brackets, master cylinders and black painted bolts etc are done with the same type paint? single stage urethane?

The brake booster ,was painted with a rattle can .It was from Eastwood ,called under the hood black which is pretty good paint.I have a friend in Coral Springs ,he moved there from Canada

I use the Krylon spray cans for my brackets, master cylinders,And I use Seymour rattle can Aluminum and stainless steel for aluminum and steel looking parts.
As far as k frames, I use Krylon Glossy black with great results. Just shape the crap out of the can and spray light coats.

I use Eastwood rattle can chassi black, underhood black and spray grey and they are good quality for brackets and stuff.

i use Nason Chassis black (which is actually an old fashioned laquer) for suspension and non-visible parts.

I use rattle can for engine paints, mostly eastwood, but some duplicolor based upon recommendations here.

Any body color I pull out the HVLP and spray true base/clear or urethane or for not so pretty results, Nason Enamel with wet look hardener. Cheap and works good on steelies.

I used Nason for the underhood. It was almost 1/2 the cost of PPG Delstar, and came out great. It's a little more metallic than the PPG, and a little brighter. I think I'm going PPG on the exterior,though. Maybe no one will notice, and the slightly brighter engine compartment will make up for being in the shadows.

Nothing wrong with Plasikote or Krylon for primer or semi-gloss black.
I used VHT high temp semi-gloss this time.

Plastikote etching primer and epoxy scratch filler primer ROCK.

Thanks again for all your replies. The consensus seems to be that a lot of you use the rattle cans for your detail work.

Rattle can paint weather purchased from one of the major manufacturers or loaded in cans at a paint supplier do not have hardner in them and therefore do not hold up nearly as well.

Velspar rattle can paint is the best paint I have found for radiators,brackets,master cylinders etc..

If you choose to go the spray bomb route (rattle cans) a good idea is to spray rattle can etch primer first for longevity, especially if you have bare metal on your bits and pieces. RM as an example makes a couple different ones, AM 700 is the part number, most paint manufacturers (body shop supply store will have them) have these available. Paint itself doesn't adhere well to bare metal. The etch primer chemically etches the metal and in some cases adds zinc as an anti-corrosion compound...Cheers!
