When I was in tech school, we were learning about grinding valves. I knocked a valve off the bench it bounced and landed upright on the stem. We spent the next month trying to get a valve to land like that. couple came close

There is also The Law of Selective Gravity, where parts will drop to where they are the most unattainable and cause the most harm.

Like when I was installing hood bumpers along the fenders and one dropped...down onto the top of the K-frame.
