1969 is my choice. Why?
...best grill
...best tail lights
...best trunk
...best dash (no center vent cover for non-ac cars)
...the Road Runner emblems are in COLOR
...rectangular corner markers
...door lock / unlock easier to reach
68 is a close 2nd
70 is 3rd

Wow, that is almost completely opposite of my post #25.

70 is beautiful wherever you look at it, with plum crazy color it is the top
34 to 33 is not what I would call an easy win. Pretty dang close.:poke:

I'm a 69 and 71-2 guy.
Have owned several of each.
68 and 70 are cool too.
72 has one the coolest grills of any muscle car.
71 Hemi RR is one of my dream cars and would take that over most any muscle car. Next would a 69 Hemi RR.
In the process of buying another 69.

69 A12, in a bright color.

But I really like the HIP colors on the 70's too.

The 70 has the pistol grip shifter, rallye dash, 15 inch rallye wheels, the coolest air grabber hood ever, and the best one year only body styling. The 68 and 69 are the same plain Jane car, andthe 71 and 72are the same car with minor styling changes, as are the 73 and 74. The 70 has it all over all of them. I have owned several of all of them, and the 70 is the best.

69 for me i just think the tail lights are the best looking ever i have owned 7 69s i have one now

^^This^^

I like all the styling and hardware changes on the ‘70, but that awesome, in your face, snarling, “warbird” mouth popping up out of the hood...we’ll it’s just awesome!
The ultimate equipment for red light intimidation!

Any questions?

1970 by far. It has the Charger dash that is surely the most desirable. Nicest front end and tail end. It just says. LOVE ME. Kim

Don't want to offend anyone, but I do have some opinions.
1968 a dramatic body style change which was the best among all the USA cars
a very big change in grill design , which accented the bold performance aspect.
The first with affordable performance
Side markers that were much better looking than all the later government mandated.
A metal grill , not cheap plastic. The textured dark gray finish added to the bold look.
I do prefer the tail ights of a 1969.
The absence of too much exterior trim which I think looks a little gaudy.
Please excuse, but I do not like the pistol grip-gaudy.
After 1970 the front end looks heavy and too large.
Ma Mopar did not want to mess with success, so the following three years 68-69-70 stayed with the same graceful body lines..............MO

Snobs!! The 'best' roadrunner isn't even in the poll!

I posted earlier adding other cars within a model 'era' with preferences (sorry expanded on thee question). Always found it real interesting to scan the subtle or more significant changes one year to the next. Example, the '66 and '67 GTO. Tail end big difference, and the '67 grille was the metal cyclone fence design from the plastic grid on the '66. Liked the '67 rear and the grille much more. There's a resemblance btw the '67 GTO rear and the '70 RR tail lights - could be one of the reasons I prefer the '70 RR. Other's might say they don't see any resemblance. It is amazing what catches the eye btw one person and the next to their liking or not. Same could be said about colors and ahh...what one finds attractive vs another in females. Pretty amazing as well, how none of us have the same fingerprints...okay, I'll stop now...lol.

I picked up this 70 Road Runner convertible project and as you can see, I am starting from scratch, but it's a yellow and black, N96 car. It will be a cool car when it gets done!
