Anybody know who can retread Goodyear polyglas tires if possible? I know I can buy new ones but the set I have are not even 5 years old, sidewalls are mint. Just like to reuse them instead of tossing them
Try a set. Radials are not what they were in the 80s.Thanks for your input guys, I buy my tires from a gentleman in Montana. Little over 100 dollars cheaper then anywhere else and I get them in 3 days if they are in stock. I would never put radials on my muscle cars. I like the how they drive like how they used to drive back then on shitty *** bias plys.
I think you got the message, but to re-inforce--trucks never run re-treads on steering axles...........................MOJust a thought. Have a local that does semi tractors tires and he never had a problem with retreading. Probably just gonna buy new ones.
Very trueYou dont find 10 or 12 ply car ties either.
Just like you prefer the polyglas, somewhere there is a guy who likes tube tires and hand brakes. It's technology that allows a car and driver to perform better. Its your car, make it/keep it what you feel is best.I have. Ever since I got my first set of ployglas, will never go back to radials. I like the looks and the drive. And it blows people mind when they see the ployglas “holy ****, I haven’t seen those since the late 70’s” I get the whole radial tire thing but that’s not what I buy my muscle cars for. I like to take a step back in time, when you actually had to drive a car. If I’m gonna run radials, well darn, might as well put efi in, a/c in, add power seats and power windows, let’s not forget brakes, ditch those drums and add disc. I like to be stay in the 60’s 70’s era with my muscle cars, just my preference!![]()
Man, I thought I was on top of the mountain of the old-school-back-in- the-day crowd. My only, and I mean only, concession, is driving on radial tires. ( nothing bigger than 15" though !! )I have.
