Was in the 11.30s @124 with 30.5" tires and a 3500 converter. Swapped to the 5500 and 28s. First decent run nailed a 10.53 @125.8. The trans had issues with delayed shifting so that was on the 7000 chip every shift. Bumped up to 7200, and while the trans got worse, pulled 127, still on the chip at the top. 1.47 60'. So there's more in it with a trans and some tweaking. Never touched the carb, or timing(32°).
All steel 67, stock driveshaft, small joints, 8 3/4 4.56 shitty S/S springs. Calvert front shocks and some old rear truck shocks. Lots to do drivtrain and suspension wise. But hey! It was a hell of a Lotta fun!

What's the comp ratio you are running? Pump gas or race fuel? Sounds like a nice ride, heads and cam really allow that thing to breathe nice and free at 7200, huh?

It's around 11.5-12 likely. I never cc'd the heads. Runs on C12. From what I've seen the heads should flow about 380. They came off an aluminum 572. We're keeping the RPMs down due to the factory crank. If we really let er buck it would want to see about 7600 I suspect.

How is your low end torque on the max wedge versions, do you think its been killed by too big of head, or not?

Low end torque????

It's not a motorhome, we're racing here!!

Oops forgot the thread I'm in...
To put it in perspective, it was about 11.40s and a 1.85 60ft with a 3500 stall. Then 10.50 with a 1.47 60ft, 5500 stall. So almost a second gained with a 2000 rpm launch increase

Stock 440 port window is about like a small block chevy head , I think ALL performance 440 & up should have a max wedge port size.
