Post your 11 second combos

What size tire you running ?
1972 400 block bored and stroked to 469. Eagle crank and Manley rods, Diamond pistons, Stealth aluminum heads out of the box, Comp Cams solid cam .540 lift 286 duration, Torker intake, Quickfuel 950, Hooker Super Comp headers, MSD 6al, MSD distibutor, 727 trans reverse manual valve body, 4200 stall, 8.75 rear with 3.91's. On slicks I'm running consistent 11.5's at about 116 mph. All this on worn out factory leaf springs, this winter I'll throw in my super stock springs that I have laying here.
This car is a daily driver and weighs in at about 4,000 lbs with my fat butt in it.

What RPM did you cross the line at?

Was contemplating going with 4.10s or 4.30s and a 29 or 30" tall tire... Right now I'm 325/50/15 (28") with 3.90s...... Or I would keep the tire size I have and go 4.10

I wouldn't think you'd want to spin a stroker much more than that. I would think you'd gain more by trying to improve your 60 ft times. Maybe some weight off the nose of the car. Do you have a roll bar? If you start running much under 11:50, the track may require that. Maybe some light weight wheels. What shocks are you running?

I'm going to do convo pros or hole shots , no rollbar , & strange adjustable in front / comp drag adjustable in rear . . That slip I posted was launching at 27 usually I launch 45... what should my 60' look like ?

Also the shop that's doing my frame connectors told me to try launching off idle to shock convertor ? ... can't see that doing better than launching at high rpm

We have the same stroker combo, you have more gear and I have more converter what rpm did you go through the lights at ?
Taking a similar combo to a Test and Tune tomorrow at Atco, NJ. 496" Stealth CNC, 4.30's, 3800 converter, M & H 275-60-15 Stickies, SS Springs. 6BBL Auto, through 3" Flowmaster exhaust. 69 RR @ 3750#.

View attachment 374722 Ran 11.62 @115 first time out. 30 degrees timing (don't ask...I'm an idiot) wouldn't run more than 115 mph, but ran the best 60' ever at 1.52!! Hoping to turn it up to 38 degrees and run some sub-11.50's. Will let you know.

I would think flashing the converter would be better. It lets the engine get a run at the stall point and may stall higher that way.And your suspension might like it better also. Frame connectors will help a lot. Pinion snubber?

Much harder on the drive line flashing converter right? No pinion snubber. Adjustable shocks, cal tracks , Calvert mono leafs

I don't think you'll have to worry about shocking the drivetrain to much unless you have a tranny brake. My old drag car had a loose 4500 converter, ran stock axles, driveshaft. 7.20 w nitrous, 7.60s without in the 1/8 th 1.60s 60 ft. never had a driveline failure in the 5 years I raced it. (1980s)

Sounds good, next time I'm out I'll try an rpm launch and also launch from idle, should I load it alittle ? 1200rpm? ... I'm heavy with an 8 3/4

I used to hold it at 1500. I forgot you had cal tracks. Stock springs or mono leaf?

20160713_160036.jpg

bought the car in the middle of 2016 from a german friend...we races in the last year only 1/8mile cause there were not so much 1/4 races
Best Time in 1/8mile was a 6.8...this year we will going in to rock the 1/4mile
Know for shure a 11.31 at 1/4mile from the coro in Amerika
we made only new: bigger hoodscoop from fibre and mounted an new shiftkit fro better handling, old one was also very rickety
some technical facts:
engine: 416cui, 71-40 over 340, diamond pistons 9.7-to-1 compression, sir rods-eagle-speed pro moly rings, crank-eagle-stroked, melling hi-volume oil pump, 7quart moroso oil pan, moroso windage tray, mopar 590 solid cam, isky modular iron rockers, crane push rods, edelbrock performer aluminium heads, carb:750-hp-holley-80jets-4-corners, trans: 727 with transbrake, turbo action sprag + aluminium drum, deep pan + pickup, rear: dana 60 457 pro gear, stock axles + carrier, 90-10 front shocks, long travel rear shocks, cal trac style bars, frame is tied, ingn.-MSD,
Fuel system: 2-holley blue pumps 3/8 lines into y-block-1/2 inch aluminium line to regulator-6an lines to carb
it´s a nice little monster for me, i have some cars... but never had a car like this!!! with impressive mopar-power
I hope we have a lot of fun at the 1/8 and 1/4 strip this year
Maybe one of you knows the car and his former owner from times at north-american raceplaces and have some further informations about the car-history...i love it if cars have soul and history
I´m shure that the "Superstockracer" Chris Baum was racing against him
Greetings Winki

This thread reminded me of a lesson I learned the hard way. We towed to st louis one year, there was a 1970 hemi barracuda in my class, "s/s d/auto" , and we had to run him for class, to be able to run superstock eliminations. It was my first experience w/ a loose convertor/B-M J model , I left just above an idle, he had his jacked up really high (I could hear it ) , he jumped out at least 4 car lengths on me , I caught him at the finish line, and I was a full 4 m.p.h. faster than him, we turned exactly the same ET , right down to the last digit, BUT HE WON !

I'm guessing he had a better reaction time.

I launch the dart from about 1500 and let the converter flash. It’s faster than stalling the converter way up with that combo. Doesn’t built the heat at the line either. T/A J unit

11.32 the other night with a new best 125mph! Horrible, spinning 60 ft. of 1.78 since it was cold and track prep marginal.
