Two awesome running cars there, do you really need a deep gear to run quick? It would seem not. Good work.

Faster isn't always better. Be happy Nice looking street car.

Yep. That's the car that runs 11.28's in the 1/4 mile and that's my name.

It will be in the 10's soon enough so I'll tell you when it happens so you can follow me to that thread.

Too bad. Made it into the 10's yet SSR isn't here to enjoy it.

well this was a street combo , pump gas @9to1 iron 440 +.02 stage 3 heads stage 2 intake , 2'' headers into 2 1/2 to flow masters , mild solid cam , 3200 stall 727 , 4.56 8 3/4 , bf ta drag radials 325/60 30'' tall on 10''m/t front runners on 4'' . ran 11.82 just as i drive it . now i'm on the fence on the new power plant , cause go with a 470 i've got the parts . but i just got a hold of a ind 440 mh block and a 4.5 stroker hemi cranks , thats 572 . already have done a pair of alum mw stage 6 heads n intake that have been fully pro ported n flowed , so i'm thinking which would be the best plant . all this is based in a 63 sport fury steel car with a glass hood . either way , a a a safety cage and equipment , the frontal frame will need reinforcements and brakes will need up dating as well . i don't want to cut this car up , but i want it tobe safe n keep the old look .

If you do even some porting, you will be very happy. The 906 really want the area under the seat to be opened up. You have already GREAT performance a little grinding will really help.

Simply amazing. That's great stuff.

He probably knows. He's a head porter.

While I agree some porting would have probably picked it up some....... the other side of the argument is........ how much quicker would you expect that combination of parts to go?

The 11.18 happened in less than stellar air...... so on a really good day it might have run closer to 11.10........ with some porting, probably would have dipped into the 10’s in good air.

It was turning 7100 through the lights on that 11.18 pass.

PRH, you are doing extremely well. My first porting on 906 heads gained me .5 ET & 6 MPH. Just saying. After that I got a lot more extreme. Power went up, reliability went down. I learned taking too much out is not good. Grind under the seat, some off the pushrod lump, match the chamber around the valve to the head gasket. Much power.
