Prayers for Uncle Bill, An Old Mopar Guy

I hope all goes well...
I hope for a full speedy recovery...
Get well soon Bill...

Good luck & good health...

I just got home from Bill's; there's always something he needs done. He had me install a anti-theft boot on his right front wheel. Bill bought my lunch. He wants to go to a auto swap meet this weekend in his Chickasha, OK where Bill grew up.

I think he really has the Mopar bug again since he wants to walk around looking for parts on a pair of crutches. He's got armpits of steel, that guy.

Here's a few photos, as promised, of the new/old pickup. 1969 Dodge D100.

Bill had his surgery a few months ago. He is still getting used to his prosthetic left leg. He had to take early retirement due to losing his leg. They found cancer in his amputated leg in the shin bone. He has cancer on his liver which will be removed soon; it looks to be benign. He has to sell his truck due to complications with the new leg not being able to use a clutch. He placed an ad on Facebook. I started an ad for him on this forum.

I think you might mean a tumor or growth on his liver which is benign (not cancer) if so thats great news as liver cancer, well I'm sure you know. Were going through similar things here. Im very sorry your mom fell, falling is not good and the older you get the worse it affects you, thank God she was not hurt bad, but I'm sure she is sore as heck. I hope your uncle gets back to doing what makes him happy. You didn't say his age but I'm guessing he and i are from that same generation and if so he still has a lot of living to do. So speedy recovery for him and he will be in our thoughts

It's a tumor outside the liver attached somehow by veins. The biopsy was difficult since it kept moving around when they tried to get a sample of it.

BTW, Mom has since recovered and had her 79th birthday last December. Thanks for all the prayers and well wishes.

May 2018 Update:

Uncle Bill has finished his physical therapy for his prosthetic leg and is able to walk around well using a cane. He will need surgery for the tumor on his liver.

On a happier note, Bill traded the D100 for a 1976 Chrysler Cordoba with 90,000 original miles. It has a 360 Six Pack, lumpy cam and headers. We went for a drive across town to show his sister and brother in law, Connie and David. That's Connie and Bill grinning from ear-to-ear in the car. Bill's prosthesis would not allow him to drive the D100 as it has a standard transmission. I say Bill got the better end of the deal. I am trying to persuade him to join FBBO. But for now, here's a few photos of the Doby.

P.S. Bill and I thank all of you for your thoughts, prayers and well wishes.

Good to hear, thanks for the updates

Uncle Bill got a new hi-tech prosthetic leg last Thursday. It has electronic and pneumatic or hydraulic controls of some kind and charges via USB port. He has to learn how to use it as it is totally different than the old manually operated leg.

I may have already mentioned that Bill totaled his 2014 Ram 1500 turbo diesel. Some guy ran a light and t-boned him. Bill was OK but the truck was toast. He bought a 2018 Nissan Frontier black edition 4 door. It's easier for him to get in and out of than a standard size truck.

Finally, Bill sold the Cordoba and bought his dream car. It's a 1970 Plymouth 340 Cuda. It's Vitamin C Orange with a black interior. It's pretty rough but all there and runs and drives. Those cars ain't cheap. Bill's owned 2 other Cudas, one Gold and one Red with a white top. Hopefully, Bill will hang onto this one.
