Sounds like a lot of us were bitten by the racing bug over the years. I let mine go when the responsibilities of a young family took over. Let see what you had or still have from back in the day! Here is mine from 1979 to when I let it go in 1985 for $5K w/ brand new .060 440 w/11.5DC slugs and mushroom lifter cam. Too bad we didn't have digital cameras back then...

Nice, I love the picture with the Gremlin, mustang and your barracuda.
Well being that i wasn't born until 91' I don't have any, Although my grandfather used to race b body mopars back in the 60's-70's I believe he ether had early Belvederes or Coronets along with a 69' Bee that according to my dad, my grandfather would pop wheelies in the school parking lot and leave trails of rubber after picking up my dad and his brother when they were kids. Bet i couldn't get away with that today!

hahaha...love the maverick towing with the chain...safety first...lol
Back in the day a lot of us young guys would flat tow. I was fortunate that I was only 10 miles or so from Capitol Raceway. The entrance to the track had a steep hill at the gate so I would stop short of the booth, walk up and pay, then get a running start on the hill. That was the only way the 6 banger Maverick could tow it up the hill. It became too much trouble once I got slicks on the car and had to change tires at the track. One time a screw in stud backed out as I was removing a lug nut and I spent the next 2 hours trying to get the wheel off. Vice grips and f'ing up the 3" stud as I recall.Went home and tack welded them after that. Thanks for the comments guys, I am glad I still have a few pics of those times. Here's a few more and although the car is long gone the gal in the pics is still putting up w/ my BS!

Any idea if that Dodge trk. is still around? I'm looking for one to restore and haul my AWB?

I parted company with the hauler in 1981, sold it to Bernies Radiator shop in Germantown MD. Haven't seen it since.

Cool car and hauler! Not many had haulers like that in 70 when I started when I started racing. This car was mine during 84-86. A divorce stopped it.....

The hauler was bought from a guy I helped with his car. I think I paid $1500 for it. At the time I didn't have a decent tow car so the truck took place of tow car and trailer. That GTX looks like it was a nice piece.
