For e body password, iam having difficulty opening, so here’s my so far. Amateur Metal work. Skin has been replaced-this is the only account I have on a car site excluding for e bodies so I’m showing a camaro skin replacement for grading my metal work. I’m showing metal work that will be used in the sell of the challenger and camaro, so it’s I’d say 7.50-10 dollar a hour on welding. Sanding around 12 a hour- I’m stilling having trouble with the DA and smoothing paint with a block where they is no waves. And painting is back and forth, from 10 to 17,like my pool game is-bi polar.

What are you using for a welder? Flux core or gas?

Nothing wrong with flux core. Try welding on a 45 degree angle. Not dead on , try that on a couple old pieces of metal. 1/2 “ with a two inch space. Let cool then go back in should turn out like a row of nickels. Hope you dont mind me suggesting tips.

Just remember I haven’t take a photo of the skin replaced but I do have this. Have to remember tomorrow. Capa front fenders, for the truck. We found what I did a decade ago,I forgot about it but dad found it-1 inch thick of bondo in one of the fenders. We couldn’t go with who I was a decade ago,so my dad bought two new fenders.

Why you having issues with the sander?

Well, I’m trying to teach myself to not use the edge and keep it flat, impatience is a big factor in trying to overcome. And like what my dad says it wears the bearing out when pressing on the edge.

The more you do the better you get. Remember to spot weld here and their. I got carried away with my outer wheel tub and it wanted to pull. So had to remined my self to not keep welding in the same place. You can use your compressed air to cool the metal when welding. Half an inch bead here and their. Work's better I found out. Looking good on what you have done. I ran Argon gas on my Tig. Also used a Mig and Mr. Tig on U tube is a good guy to get tip's from. Like how to set up your Mig. Or Tig for welding the size metal your working on. Just some tip's and keep at it you will learn like the rest of us did. Blue.

Some updates. I’m going gator clear coat 2020 jeep color with green interior. Im going with the small back glass but I’m going without the headliner console or trim for right now and vinyl top.

everything except a few holes in the floor pan I’ve got to do. Got the trunk extensions in,door jams(had to redo one door jamdoor wouldn’t fit well),frame rails, trunk pan and tail fin. I drilled the holes in the door jam wider like I did on the frame rails and welded on high 2.

Made a mistake on the alignment of the trunk pan and passenger side door jamb I cut to much out(my first door jamb installation). Read the trunk pan fits under the tail fin but I didn’t see how it could work because the two front humps wasn’t aligned over the back rest lips. and the trunk extensions lip fit on top of the trunk pan to it I learned but it’s a inch away from the two piece trunk pan.

Nice. I've got a 70 challenger too. It was originally a 318 auto car so I'm doing what I want with it. It was sitting in a storage unit from 1980 til 2014 when I got it. Guy took it completely apart. Every nut, bolt, clip. And then didn't bag it or mark it. So he lost interest and I ended up with it from the guy that owned the storage unit.

I can’t wait till I drive it. I got my little air red compressor and respirator(claustrophobic I’ll tell ya) for sand blasting. I’m not worrying about the welds carpet will cover those up. And I’m worried about grinding down the frame rails amd door jambs welds.

At any rate. Looks like your doing fine. This is a good time to make sure all your gaps are good. With latches in.
