Progress.

This is my dads chevelle. He purchased it for 11500 and we drove it home with a 402 big block running. He got it professionally painted by a brother of a body shop at a expensive price by a well known body man who does barret Jackson cars.

it’s a big block car from factory by it having its original matching transmission it just doesn’t have the 325 horsepower 396 from 1970. Story goes a father bought the car for his son and his son blew the motor up under warranty. Originally green out green in.. has all SS components sways bars to bucket seats to the airplane shifter or horseshoe shifter.
Originally a Malibu 400 we believe but it’s hard to tell from in 1970 SS was a trim option so 136 cars was both SS and non SS.. 138s prior was SS cars. Plus when dad redid the seats himself he noticed it was originally a bench seat car so goes to show it’s more probable it being a Malibu 400. I’ll get more pictures today sometime.

also the Zr1 from the local show is there in the picture that won first place….

More pictures of dads chevelle. He redid the seats himself to save money-did a excellent job for his first time doing seat work especially on rear seat.
I got the 1967 chevelle steering wheel because of the deal for a real one and like it better than 1970 steering wheel. I got him the real green tint Ls5 SS gauges that have to be restored. Got a posi track 4:10 rear end. And all SS component parts underneath. This is as close to a real SS has it gets.

The truck runs trying to figure out how to download the video to here.

It is gmc meaning a c15 truck not a c10 truck. But everyone calls them all c10s.

Slow internet.. got one loaded my dad taught me no one wants that shaved sh’t unless it’s done professionally so he got me a tailgate and chrome bumpers and we decided we’re going to try and get alittle more than 18000 now.. and the couch is my nonis couch that I love dearly! No one makes them anymore like that.. I’ve got to place it in the shop and put a cover over it for now..

Service parts identification or spid code is just like a fender tag. Wish it was in better shape but I’ve had this truck for 12 years and didn’t give a care for a spid code in high school when building the truck. The shaved tailgate wasn’t me doing it but someone before me who had the truck did a really good job shaving it I messed the detail someone put into it and create a mess of waves. I’ll take pictures.

I cannot believe I found such beautiful original poverty hubcaps for the price I did 255 for these beautiful hubcaps without a dent. The engine without the smog right now but does run and is in timing at 4 degrees above top dead center. Shaved tailgate I half-a’d on you can tell from laziness with a dang 180 grit grinder I used my dad got frustrated at me about that.

I’m adding this to my bundle if I ever get a am fm radio with a cassette lead. And it’s dark green too.

I got a vintage tissue dispensers with nos never opened vintage tissue boxes one thing my dad kinda got frustrated about but I told him no body does this stuff and it’s going to look good. This is something I’ve got to pay him back on for sure at the first of the month…

I’ll figure out how to upload a video of the truck running. It’s got a 3 inch flow master on it right now until we get a catalytic converter. I want it very quiet so quiet it sounds like my daily driver truck.. I love quiet tbi big blocks. And what’s incrediblely hard to find is a standard bore 454 two bolt main with its tbi and computer system.. and yes it was when flat tappets cam was in place before they realize roller cams should be in place with catalytic converters when taking the zinc out of motors.. ill have to put zinc in this motor to help the converter not get clogged up and help the flat tappet cam when it’s put on..

At the half a’d shaved tailgate I don’t look at that above as a joke I look at it more of showing the customer psychology of depression, don’t care-sociopathic tendency of just not caring for anything at all around me when I’m only in me mode of building the truck and getting done with it so I can drive it instead of trying to sell it or impress people or just in the I don’t care mode doesn’t mean In always like that. I know what decreases value and what doesn’t in a small form and with that way of thinking I know that picture decreases the heck out of hourly labor that I’m working for but I see it as showing the customer who I really am.

I’d say shop life isn’t perfection in many people lives like a sign I saw what happens in the garage stays in the garage that half a’d tailgate is a symptom of what usually stays in the garage when building cars and trucks in millions of people lives most probably wouldn’t take a grinder with a 180 grit and grind the rust and paint off but I did it but I’m trying not to hide from it…

And I’d say some of those 300000 dollar cars those builders have got some stories probably not as bad as a 180 grit grinder trying to get the paint off without using so much pressure but maybe some white flaws in those ranks in thr garage..

I’ve got alphabet punches for creating a fender tag for the challenger with the vin code punch in as well. If I don’t do a good job I might pay a expert to create one for me for 150 or so. I would have never thought in my wildest dream I’d make a fender tag but it’s suitable for this car I think. I’m going to research all fender tag codes I have after I get everything together.

Will never stamp in secret vin code only vin code on a fender tag blank sheet of metal.

Man doesn’t look this bad in the sun..

My dad said 15000 after seeing this what didn’t reveal itself in the sun. Moment like this is a eye sore for a buyer even if they sae different in the sun… we are going to talk to a professional paint shop that did the chevelle. All the hard work is done in picture to show to the body shop that it’s stripped. But first we are going to enjoy it with a driver quality paint job.

We got thr truck running and driving I just have to figure out how to upload it running. It’s not able to drive yet but we have tags for it and ready to drive it’s just needs to nickel and dime stuff that ain’t done yet.

We was working to try for 20000 but after seeing so much imperfection we are just going to enjoy it and then get professionals to paint it.

The grill is chrome and black defect in pictures from it being dark but made me think of a pretty cool grill.
