I am trying to figure out the proper setup/routing for the kickdown linkage on my 440/727 combo. I am not sure if the hinged piece faces the front of the engine or the firewall and how I should route the linkage pieces back to the 727.

I can't find the pics I took before the original engine was pulled :-(

Any help or images from those of you with "factory setups" would be appreciated.

Try the factory service manual for your year, they have good illustrations.

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is there a pdf of the service manual available? Or a reasonably priced hard copy?

That linkage looks to be the style that was used in the mid/late 70's. Did that linkage come with the engine/trans setup you have? What year is your 440?

SO yes, its a 76 linkage setup...(originally a 400 and 727 out of a car I have no idea about). THe tranny was rebuilt and the block is one of the larger water jacket late 70s 440s. Just want to get it back into the car without changing much else as it all worked before I pulled it apart!

guess I need that diagram...from a 77 Monaco or something like that! I really don't know when the 400 was grafted into my 67 :-(

I downloaded a couple from mymopar they were fine.
Not sure about your model or year. They are free.
