Any recommendations for shops that will recore a 62' radiator? Or any place that sells parts to recore? I just picked up a radiator out of a 62' Chrysler BB and its only a two row unit (surprised the heck out of me). I don't even want to think of using it unless its a 3 core but my local shop is not sure he can locate the lower section of the top tank..

I second the Glen Ray recommendation. He’s not cheap but he’ll do the job right and he stands behind his work.

Track down a radiator shop that works on trucks, ag and industrial applications.

There's an ACME Radiator near me, been there forever and 2 days.

Probably from back in the day when phone numbers were delivered to your door in giant books with yeller pages.

I've been trying to bring everything I can there lately because once it's gone no one else will be picking up the slack.

I bought the ebay special aluminum radiator for my 62, no complaints.

Weighs less too.

However I have other cars with stock radiators that cool fine in hot weather.

Same here. I got incredibly lucky, the kid took over for the dad. Did a great job on the GTX. Same cost as Glen Ray, but didn't have to do shipping. Talked to a fellow FBBO member at the tent this summer, and he couldn't find a single shop in Pittsburgh, went with Glen Ray.

Sounds like Glen Ray is not an option any longer. I forgot to mention that aftermarket radiators, even the reproduction ones, are not an option for me. Does anyone know if the early 22" radiators for big blocks had bigger tubes than those for a small block? Was that what determined a big block from a small block radiator?

Im trying to figure out what the cooling difference is between a small and big block 22" 2 core radiator. If the cores are the same rows and same size then why is one for a BB and the other a SB? Has to be the tube size and flow capacity?

As I said, the only difference is the inlet hose spigot at the bottom.
