Rebuilt trans troubles

If me I would go at least for a TF-1 (transgo) update on v.body. A little extra timing& extra oil in the right places.

I was thinking of doing that but I still need a valve body. Do I need one specific. My trans is a 66.

I figure I'll have to take it back to the rebuilder. Any thoughts ?

You need to talk to that 'rebuilder'! If the shift body is cracked, chance it's his fault.

I agree with Miller. As to a replacement - I think you need a valve body from after when the rear pump went away (early - mid 60s?) and when part throttle kickdown was added (early 70s) and later when converter lockup was added. You may be able to use a part throttle kickdown VB - not sure.

Yes, get one for your year model, so you have the correct 'rooster comb'...

What do you guys think of the turbo action 17676 manual / automatic valve body? Will it work on my 1966 transmission?
