Roadkill and other car related TV shows

I threw something across the room and it bounced off the windshield of the Max one time. A new windshield went with the car when I sold it.
You, TOO ??? Forget about mild things like cuss words. Back in the day, many, many moons ago, I would go full tilt in the garage. Actually break things or throw things. Once, another mechanic found something I'd thrown and slammed on the floor and it found it's way across the garage. He knew it was me.

It's one thing to do it when you're alone, it's another when other people are there. I worked for a guy who would throw things while I was helping him do things, upholstery. He went through 2 maybe 3 cell phones! I told him one time that if he threw something again when I was there I would leave and never come back. I forgave him the next time but after that he never did it again.

I had a good buddy Jeff B., we called "the beak" (big nose)
dad was the local district CHP Lt. Wayne B., cool guy but disciplinarian
he divorced Jeff's mome when Jeff was like 12, but still lived together (strange)
He had a 70 'cuda Gran Coupe 383/727tf hopped up, street racer, pretty quick
when he worked on anything if something went wrong or bad (in his mind)
he'd bash the fender or something with an hammer, throw a hissy fit...
I felt sorry for the car, none deserve that carp, I told him so too...

He knew he had a problem,
it was always taking it out on that poor cool car too
or his mom's Vista Cruiser Buick 455 Wagon

Had another friend that hung around a lot too
Scott H. he was a phsyco sometimes, his dad was a big wig head tech
for the local Chrysler Dodge dealer, guy was extremely mellow
but Scott would break ****, have fits of rage in the garage, throw stuff
when he ran into trouble working on his Buick GS Stage 1 convt.
or his 71 RR 440-6bbl, sad really

I've never ever been that type, I've thrown some series F-bombs
in not appropriate crowds, I try not around children

Both Jeff & Scott were work out buddies too

when I smoked still I'd sit down with a cig & a adult beverage
or just a beer, smoke a cigarette, count to ten & chill a bit
(I smoke my share of pot when in my 20's too, socially usually)
I figured out early in life getting that riled up over lil' stuff was extremely childish
I didn't like it when others did it, so I tried to not do it myself...

I'd warn friends that'd come around, about him doing that
it was a sight to see, it was sort of normal when he worked on his
or his mothers cars (he'd never do anything to Wayne's his dad)
funny thing was the dude (Jeff) was the most calm/chill dude'
the other 99% of the time
he worked for Kaiser Permanente WC Hospital,
as a maintenance/custodial guy

I have golfed with a few guys that would throw clubs & have a fit,
get all angry, those type generally aren't very good
they weren't as good as they thought they were, so they shouldn't
"really get as mad as often as they did" anyway
I'd ask them;
"why they golf if it pisses them off so damn much ?
they say;
"they loved the game or it relaxes them :blah:
I'd reply;
"it doesn't seem like it to me, you're pissed off more than happy throwing clubs etc."
I tried not to play with them types, it's just a game,
you can get mad but don't act the fool, that's childish & just wrong...

I am sure there has been some f bombs dropped. It’s all in the editing, after all the shows with the yelling and pissed off people. It ‘s refreshing it to not have to put up with it.
Dan Short from Phantom Works used to get pretty worked up. He used some salty language at times, and I'm sure they had to edit out a lot.

Periodic swearing prevents me from building up a bunch of anger and then blowing a gasket and ending up in some trouble.
Exactly! I get frustrated, explode, and then it’s over and back at it. Relieves my stress.

I started turning wrenches for a living as a young man but I never threw anything. That never made sense to me because of the damage it would do. I did cuss though when I was younger. But and I don't know when the transition happened but I said to myself hey your a mechanic just figure it out.
So as I moved along in the profession and I would see the other guys get upset I would have that conversation about being a mechanic and figure it out. Some guys got it and became excellent mechanics, some guys never did and never progressed.
