I don't know if this car has been discussed, but I was kind of excited when I saw there was a Tesla electric car being tested as Tesla was the leader in developing the wireless transmission of electric current, which would mean a true Tesla car would run on transmitted current powering an electric motor. But then I read the article and saw it's just another battery bomber.

Cool & great looking & great performing battery powered Electric car, unfortunately "Tesla" I believe is just another wasted Govt. Subsidized/Loan for yet another Green Energy Electric car company, that isn't doing very well yet, it could be because of the $100k, price tag, but at least they are employing some people in Calif. Fremont area & Calif. needs the jobs...

WOW: It really sheds light on the subject that most of us did not know.
4,700 Lb vehicle, heavy...fast...quiet...Luxurious! 230 miles on a charge is pretty good!
Hopefully technology will bring the price down someday.
Now that Obama is in office for another 4 years, my hopes of getting on are out the door.
I'll check the "local section 8" homes popping up in my neighborhood (So Cal) I'm sure they can afford one!

Robbing Tesla would not be anything new. Just ask Westinghouse. And we all should thank Tesla every time we turn on the light switch, for if it wasn't for him we wouldn't have AC power and polyphase motors.

I know a guy that works for the car company located in the old NUMMI plant in Fremont. I said you guys should put a gas engine in that thing and you would really have something.

Was going to say since Tesla was a big AC guy, the car is a double whammy to him, but Meep beat me to it.

I'd still own one, though, if I could afford to replace the batteries in a couple of years.

More than being an AC guy, Tesla's biggest dream was the wireless transmission of electricity, so I think any car with Tesla's name on it should be a car that receives its electric power wirelessly. Your car would receive its electricity the same way the radio receives a radio signal. The power comes in, floats across a battery, and drives the motor. The battery would only be used if the car went into an area that was outside the transmission area of a power tower.

We've already got cell towers covering 95% of the country. Add electricity transmission capability to them and we could have electric cars with virtually unlimited range. That's what a Tesla car should be.

They kind of have something like that, out in boonies in Alaska, It's called H.A.A.R.P. {I'm not sure what the acronym is}, it's ran by the Dept. of Defense, Air Force & Navy, it puts a large charge of electricity into the air/atmosphere, thru some big transformers & electrical grid, it's suppose to alter weather patterns & cloud formations & it's killed people & messes everything up around it, kind of like a electro magnetic pulse, kind of scary if you ask me, I don't know all the particulures/spec.'s....

Yeah the Tesla Nummi Plant is the old Geo Toyota/Chevy assembly plant, then long time G.M. Plant before that even.... I don't see them lasting too long, everyone in that plant goes down...
