I still think you need to find out WHAT V/Springs are on the TF240 Heads ? Seated V/Spring Pressure and Rate ?
Yes I pulled the inner springs during breakin and haven't replaced them yet,
Good point on the rockers..
Was there enough side clearance
Was it checked
I just put some together with with the comp pro magnums and there was not enough room. had to clearance about 30 thou out of the outer pedestals.I often take it for granted that this would have been checked, and corrected if necessary.
But that is often not the case.
@PRHeads @Challenger340. Have you tried these....

I have a set in an engine I assembled three years ago, they've been quiet... Not that one three year old engine means anything but at least I like the concept of oiling the lobe similar to an EDM without loosing internal pressure which would cause the lifter to collapse..
The 'cam-savers' have a small groove down the side from the oiling band, kinda like those old chevy 6 cylinders did.I haven't tried them ..... but I am curious as to "how" they are supplying extra Oil to the Lifter face given the Crower descriptive ?
I mean are they using a edm hole ?
or,
are they playing with Lifter Body OD's ? to leak more Oil out around the Lifter Body ?
"They deliver 20 to 30 percent more oil to your lobe and lifter faces for the best possible insurance against premature lobe and lifter failure. These flat tappet styles are available in a variety of outside diameters for proper fitment on specific applications."

On the outside of the lifter body below the oil groove & down to the face they barely touch one spot with a cutter... They say it's .002
