QuickTime or Lakewood scattershield bellhousing. Pros and cons. 1965 Belvedere w/500 inch RB. I've heard fitment issues with both. I'd like to know before I shell out $700.

I run a lakewood setup for safety purposes....that and the friggin' aluminium bellhousing I bought didn't fit.....only found out after spending a day cleaning it, painting it, and loving it to death.
Lakewood fits well behind my 440 in a '70 GTX...a bit tight with the TTI headers, but I prefer tight over broken legs any day.
Only downside to me is that installing it takes a lot more effort - extra nuts and bolts, and it doesn't look original. Solid unit, and I guess darn near impossible to break.

I didn't know QuickTime had such a bell housing. I have a Lakewood in my small block E body Cuda. Heavy as heck, many many nuts and bolts around the perimeter (PIA) and it is a large unit. I had to dent 1 tube on my Super Comps. It otherwise fit well.

I know that wasn't much help but it is a super nice unit. THICK!

Lakewood and Quicktime are now jointly owned by one company but they still manufacture these two distinctly different bellhousings. I know from my Corvette and Cobra replica that Quicktime is slightly more compact and has a reputation for bolting up within runout spec. Lakewood has a reputation for needing offset dowels and having to be dialed in to align it correctly. The Quicktime BH is a truly nice piece. I'm not sure about for Chryslers but for Ford they make both SFI rated and non-SFI rated. The non-SFI rated is a bit less bulky as it doesn't have as many large assembly bolts. Both have block plates. I've had both over the years but not on a Mopar - I would pick Quicktime over Lakewood any day of the week.

The QuickTime #RM-6073. Manufacturer claims the unit is smaller and lighter than the factory bellhousing. I really don't want to start beating on a set of $$$ TTI headers.

I have a shield and motor plate for a BB for sale.
pm me your email address I'll send you pics.
Not sure on the brand. But I thought it was a Lakewood?
Brand new $400 plus shipping

My 65 Dodge the Lakewood needed tunnel mods, my motor is 1.5" set back. Would've had to mod some without set back. Quicktime looks like it would fit better in the tunnel. Headers ah that's the question, the flange around the outside could be a problem. I'd call TTI to see if they have experience with either housing.
