A hoax hit the great expanse of the
internet today. Sam Elliot reported,
dead.
The nerve of some to post this
nonsense.
Don't believe everything you read
folks.
Sam ranks up there with greats
such as John Wayne and Clint
Eastwood. He's become an
American icon.

Just finished watching Ghostrider tonight.

I haven't seen all of his movies, but I've never seen him play a character I didn't like. Glad he's still with us.

It wasn't until reading that website with his bogus death notice that I knew that he was in the movie "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" with Redford & Newman. He is even married now to fellow co-star Katherine Ross.

I wanna be Sam Elliot when I grow up. As an occassional voice-over guy, his voice is the most unique. His is mistaken for no one else on the planet. Am I envious? Hell, yeah, I am! LOL!

Sam Elliot came up in discussion recently with my wife the other day. We both agreed that he has the most masculine sounding voice on TV.

Another favorite of ours with him in it is Tombstone.

You need to see him in that new western "1883". He is excellent, with Tim Mcgraw and Faith Hill. Comes on every sunday night.
Loved him in "We were Soldiers"

Yep, been watching 1883. It is a good series. Tim and Faith are good actors as well as singers.

Yeah, damn if they didn't...oops spoiler alert. I'll stop here.

Yeah he had a half-min part if that, with no dialog I recall sitting at a card table. He first met Ross on the set, somewhat later romance. Recall seeing him on an episode of Mannix as a bad guy, no stash yet. I know I'm old remembering him and others like Selleck (Rockford Files) and Ford when they were still doing bit parts on their way to stardom.
Yeah, Sam's voice is unique, if I'd a had that would have put fewer people to sleep in the training classes I had to teach. At least I think so.

I like him too,
one of my favorite actors, especially in Westerns

he was also a Sherrif in 1883 (Yellowstone knockoff)

good part in Tombstone too, the Earps
(Kurt Russel good actor guy I like, even if he's with Goldy Hawn)

liked his character in Roadhouse also
(better than Patric Swayze)

he did a few flicks/TV mini-series IIRC
(with Tom Selleck another actor I like)
about civil war brothers
for/on opposite sides IIRC (name of eludes me at the moment)
that moved back to Texas (?)

he's a more normal guy for a celebrity/actor, not a weirdo
like most Hollyweirdos
seen a few interviews with him, seems like a great guy, patriotic
a dude to sit down & have a few beers with & laugh
2nd amendment advocate too

I'm glad it was all BS, :usflag: live long & prosper Sam :drinks:
