Good movie based on the true story of the legendary lawman Bill Tilghman. Tilghman and others had a tough time in Oklahoma during the 1800s and turn of the century period keeping law and order.

Sit back and enjoy and forget about everything else for a bit.

Worked on the set as a technical expert. Got to drive the old cars around in the background. Met Sam, great guy.

Just west of Calgary Alberta on the lonesome dove set

Elliot and his wife have ( had anyway) a small farm in Harrisburg, Oregon.. My friends son worked for him a summer or two... Said he fished with Elliot on his pond, he had nothing but good to say about him...
There is a great lunch spot close by in Brownsville Or... It was a " go to " bar for alot of harley riders on weekend rides.. The servers said that Sam Elliot rode his Harley over for lunch occasionally..

You got to drive the old cars?

in Oklahoma during the 1800s .

What cars were on the road then?

Good point Kern. The movie was set in the early 1920s. We were driving a 28 Whipit, they loved the car and were not all that concerned with being historically correct.

Neither were they concerned about geography, apparently. Central Oklahoma is a whole lot flatter than the movie set.
