Saw my dream car at HAN. Not a Mopar.

Photon440...is this REAL?
A GNX is not as fast as a new v6 Camaro?

really?
A lot of the articles of the day showed the GNX posting low 14 seconds, sometimes a 13.9 when well tuned, plus a sub 6 second 0-60 time. Enough to spank the Corvettes of the day, and bring back memories of the musclecar days. I was loving it!

A brand new V6 Camaro will get you 13.4 - 13.7 seconds, depending who's testing it, and a 5.2 second 0-60. (Chevy claims a 13.5) Plus that v-6 sounds pretty good at its 7200 rpm. redline, especially compared to the available turbo four. The .97 skidpad cornering is way better than the old Buick too.

Sadly, the V6 Challenger has to lug about 600 lbs. extra with 30 fewer horsepower, so there's no way for it to keep up.

Here's the specs for the Grand National, GNX, and 2018 Camaro (4cyl & V6)

Grand National 245 HP
0-60 6.9 sec
1/4 mile 15.7 @ 97.5
GNX 300 HP
0-60 5.4 sec
1/4 mile 13.4 @ 104
2018 Camaro 2.0L 275 HP
0-60 5.4 sec
1/4 mile 14.1 @ 97
2018 Camaro V6 335 HP
0-60 5.1 sec
1/4 mile 13.7 @ 103

I don't know where those specs came from, but since 2016 the V6 Camaro engine has 335 HP and is a lot quicker than that.

Nice choice Ski!

My personal favorite....

Yeah,
I have to be honest with you guys!
I too LOVE that Gran National
GNX mystique
To think: a 231 V-6 turbo lifting the front wheels UP!
Bad to the Bone moparnation74!

Again,
BUICK sticks its middle finger out to Corporate GM!
Because it did beat the 86 Vette!

After all,
It WAS Buick and especially Oldsmobile that told Corporate GM to "go to hell" with the Cubic Inch displacement Ban of 12 Jan 1963

When I was young I had an 87 Buick Grand National. With a chip, that was a bad *** street car. I had a Pioneer CD sound system, AC and power everything. I loved it. At the time I also had a 1971 Challenger R/T 383 with a 4.10 Dana and the GN would whoop it in stock form.

For the OP
#2 GTO(allegedly)

1962 was the last year for the 250 GTO. Ferrari let go of the copy rights for GTO and Pontiac picked up the rights in 63 for their 64 GTO. My understanding that the 63-64 were 250 GT, not GTO.

I do agree that the car I saw probably was not a real one.
No, 1962 was first year, 36 examples hand built into 1964, each slightly different, the later cars had more 250 LM look but they were all 250 GTO. Purpose built race cars that Enzo selected the buyers for.

Well, at least the bitchin stopped the bithcin stopped the bitchin stopped.....wrong record. Even more amazagain is that there was no ******** BS in this thread!! It's a new dawn! Fawn? I'm going back to sleep :D

Ha Ha
Ferrari, a "crackerBox" company that was in shambles during that ERA.
Henry Ford "II" (The Deuce) sent his team over to purchase the flailing company, his team asked to see the "Books"
They said: "what books" and Old Man Enzo stubbornly backed out of the deal.
Read up on how the Lamborghini VS Ferrari Feud started, same B.S from Enzo.
Real Story
Then FORD built the GT40, Dominated
Know why FORD didn't win the First year?
Ferrari refused to race the last race, which so happened to be in Italy, they were points leader, knew Ford was going to win and backed out.
The Cobra Daytonas were ALSO "Hand Built"
And yes, Pete Brock stated a couple of the Cobra Daytonas were scrapped, couldn't bring them back from England
