Is shifting early more a symptom of incorrect, or misadjusted linkage? Drove my big block 76 Cordoba for the first time after an engine swap the other night, and due to no registration or insurance yet, stuck to the alleys so speeds were extremely low. Can't recall what speed it was at, but upon trying to accelerate even slightly, the trans shifted into second and the car fell on its face. To the best of my knowledge, I'm using all the correct parts for the factory four barrel linkage, but have swapped out the TQ for a Carter AFB and Torker 383 (yes I know no the best manifold for the street, but it's what I had and the car runs great with it). Today I held the carb open at WOT and there was still a TON of movement in the rod until it was all the way back, was going to start by adjusting that, but should I be looking at my linkage at the carb as well? I'll take some pics after work and post them that show how everything looks.
