Do skid plates interfere with r&r of oil pans, especially with custom pans such as a 5-quart pan? Does anyone make them in a bolt on version or are they all needing welding?

Next question. Where do you buy them or do you make them?
The stock skid plates only benefit you if you have a stock "hemi" pan. Anything like a deepened Milodon pan and they're useless - they aren't deep enough.
FURTHERMORE, what do you hope to gain from the plate? It will only benefit you if you do a huge wheelie and come crashing down on the k-member. Otherwise, if you think you're going to hit something and slide right over it with a skid plate, guess again ... the skid plate does not cover the pan. So as soon as the skid plate passes over that brick the pan now comes in contact with it.

Skid Plate
Built a 440 (512) w a 7 quart pan and am worried about ground clearance. I have not found an aftermarket Skid plate that covers the length of the pan so I made one. Has any one else made there own or have seen an aftermarket one that goes full length?? Looking for different designs. Honestly...

I have a skid plate on my 65, but the 7 qt Milodon oil pan is lower than the skid plate.
