So I have a 440 with iron block & aluminum everything else, my question is would a all iron Smallblock weigh the same ?, more? or less?
not internals just head's, water pump, manifold, pulley's, braketsWhat do you mean by aluminum eveything else?
200 lbs?! An iron 360 is 550. The Mopar 4.7 Corsair motor, iron block w/ aluminum SOHC heads is 435 lbs. Have You got a link for these 200 lb wonders? Thats less than VW 1600. They are 250 lbs. full dress.Mopar performance had some light wt small blocks for the dirt track boys. If I remember right 600hp at 200 lbs.
They had all alum. 410 sprint 830+ HPMopar performance had some light wt small blocks for the dirt track boys. If I remember right 600hp at 200 lbs.
You are right around 555 lbs if You had headers...it looks like You have cast iron manifolds,,if so, add back 25 lbs.not internals just head's, water pump, manifold, pulley's, brakets

Made for sprint car racing, the Mopar A8 small block engine is good for 850 hp. @ 7800 rpm. at only 345 pounds. The block itself is only 130 lbs. Get one on Amazon before they're gone.200 lbs?! This i figured. That it could be less than 400lbs, but not less than 300lbs. Is the block based on 340 geometry?Made for sprint car racing, the Mopar A8 small block engine is good for 850 hp. @ 7800 rpm. at only 345 pounds. The block itself is only 130 lbs. That seems to match close to the figures i ferreted out.AndyF over on FABO just weighed his stroked 400, no carb or accessories and it's 516lbs.
Bladecutter 400 block weigh less then a 440 !!That seems to match close to the figures i ferreted out.
Oop....i thought the 400 would be same as 413/440, but like i found on Hughes, stock 440 weight is 670, so alum heads save 50, alum intake saves 25 & the wata pump saves 15. Im only going off stats i found, no hands on experience. I was intrigued by Your question, so i dug a little. By the figures i found, You're not much heavier than a stock small block.Bladecutter 400 block weigh less then a 440 !!
