I need new tires, although they look new they're 13 years old. I like the tires, but I have 225/70R14 on the front and 255/60R15 on the back, not a problem for me. I'm thinking of changing up wheels and maybe go with a magnum 500 or Torque Thrust 2, which I have used on all my other cars. I like the look now, but 14's on front and 15's on back with new wheels, I'd probably need to go 15 all the way around. What do you all think!

Dont get me wrong I like the Torque Thrusters as well as the IIs... you car looks so right with the Cragars!!! Too many are running TT's , if you want those I would looks at the D's...
 
Are you thinking of chrome or a colored center. I'm kind of old school, like mat finish center, got black steel with chrome lugs rear of my 65. My car has a looong way to go, but have the wheels. :rolleyes: Don't think steel wheels are for you. Reason I'd do mat center rather have people looking at my car than saying nice wheels. Just my opinion.
Edit 15" all around and a spare tire same OD as rear tires.
 
You can't beat the look of the Crager SS on the early "B"s. I'm wondering if a set of 15s on the front then get the new tires? Cooper is selling a good tire for the money just watch for the date on the ones you're buying and the factory. Some are showing Mexico, some USA. I haven't heard of anything bad between the two locations though.

My Coopers have the Mexico stamp on them and they were already dated three years old when I bought them new. I never thought about checking the date. They look great and are performing good.

225/70/15 on 7"w 4 1/4" BS (fronts)
275/60/15 on 8"w 4 1/2" BS (rears)
 
I'm running the exact size tires on rally wheels.

I just bought new 14" fronts, changing from 235/60/14

No issue finding 14" RWL for me.

DiscountTireDirect either direct or via ebay.
 
...I do like the Cragars on that body.
 
To be honest, on this car Torque Thrust 2 don't feel right to me. These are the wheels I was thinking about or stay with what I have, but maybe buy 15' for the front to match the 15's on the back. I love the look of my car with the wheels that are on it, even 14's on the front, yes maybe more money than brains.

I like the Cragers S/S far better than Magnum's myself
vintage & modern at the same time
more than the Magnums

But since you asked of our opinions :poke:
I'd do 15" if you changing wheels & tires both
(some 17" or 18" I like too, as long as they have decent taller sidewalls on the tires
too much bigger than that, of course unless you have a Pro-touring, big brakes
& needing more rims size etc. or one off Resto-mod vibe, it doesn't look as good IMO
)

many of the above wheels can be had in polished or a combo of styles

Magnum 500's look OK too,
Road Wheels, especially those without trim rings
& not the Ford Style 500 Wheels
BUT;
It's just not my thing (it's not my car either)
Now if it was an OE car or more of that look, yeah go with the 500's

Looks beautiful just the way it is. I would burn off the rear tires on the way to the tire shop and get new rubber. The dryer the rubber the better for burnouts!
