I love the car culture and nowhere else in California will you see such strong support but the traffic we saw today…

Today was the first time I’ve driven my car in such heavy traffic since I converted to a manual transmission.

We went to the Petersen auto museum. Quite a lot to see. I enjoyed the movie and TV show cars including this.

Remember the movie “The Wraith”?
It is a cheesy supernatural movie from the 80s.
They had a nice tribute to Ken Block, the famous drift driver that passed away a little while back.
They also had a section dedicated to EVs and Waymo cars.

I went to Elementary school about 3 blocks away at Springfield Elementary... actually it's called Carthay Elementary, but the artist used the school to model the drawing of the cartoon.

... I can also tell you Springfield Elementary was loosely based on an elementary school I passed on my way to work. There’s something called Carthay Center Elementary School. I passed by it and said, “Well, that gives me a thought.” : David Silverman https://www.vulture.com/2014/09/simpsons-animator-david-silverman-early-sketches.html

Yea, it's a little crazy down there. My mom and one of my brothers lives in the area still.

Tonight.
There were a few Mopars.

From the Malibu cruise yesterday. And a couple in the Airtel parking lot. The Landy car is a legit tribute. Its owned by Hank Landy.

Good turnout today. I ran into several FBBO and FABO members. It was nice to see many familiar faces that I only get to see a couple times a year at best.
The stench of an exposed city sewer was in the air.
Also there was the usual appearance of that guy that we all have encountered at car shows…the loudmouth guy that knows it all, has seen it all, been everywhere and done everything. He talks on and on despite people often walking away from him. I call him Phil A Buster. He seemed to keep popping up as he does every year, Sharing all of his wisdom and knowledge to us common folks.
Lucky for us, he was heavily outnumbered by some really great people.

What a pleasant description. Photos please. And, words of wisdom learned from Phil.

Great show! Only was able to do today! Does anyone know who sells the RatFink statues? At Fall Fling he let me slide for 30 bucks and I promised him I'd pay him at Spring Fling. Could not find him today! Anyway, awesome show!!!

Don’t forget Supercar Sunday, Woodland Hills. Easy to check it early before rolling to Woodley. Not far. Exotics and Women, never know what you’ll see.
