Interesting video demonstration of what happens to alloy and steel under great pressure. Good to know my Rallye wheels will stay in one piece when stressed to their limit. Accent in this one is quite thick!
 
Not a fair comparison. The steel rim has only four bolt holes, the alloy one is weakened by a fifth hole. :)
 
Lets throw Centerline AutoDrag well in there & see what happens....
 
That is a poor test and has no bearing on real life
It is certainly an "Apples & Oranges" test for sure. Steel is more malleable in it current state that the aluminum. Once heat treated, the aluminum wheel becomes stronger, but more brittle and susceptible to breakage.
