on my 67 coronet, when i align the master spline on the steering wheel with the steering shaft, the wheel is out 180 degrees. I have not yet checked to see if the coupler was aligned properly with steering box, but would assume it is since i would image it would not go on easily without aligning the master spline.

is it possible that the coupler can be assembled out of phase by 180 degrees, it looks like it can be. if so can it be removed and reversed without removing the steering column?

with the front wheels pointing forward and the steering wheel upside down i have equal turns lock to lock in both direction.

any help would be appreciated...thanks

The splined coupler at the box is probably right but the 'flex' coupler that's just above that is the one that's probably out 180.....

that's what im thinking, do you think its even a possibility that it can be disassembled while the steering column is in the car?

You will have to loosen the column at the dash and firewall in order to get enough room to fix it.....
