What would be your choice and post a killer Combo setup for a 440 or a 400 Stroker Motor. That you have done what was your HP & TQ
I am curious to know what others have done i like to gather info before i make a choice its very interesting to see what others have done and how it worked out and what they would have done different..More info needed, what's your budget, hp & tq goals, what are you looking to get out of the motor
Nice great looking motor i am using a 400 block standard bore super clean and yes its a 72 block that is so desired..Depends on what you need. The block with the best sonic numbers is number one. After that I'd take a good sonic 400 over a good sonic 440. My curent engine is a Mopar Mega block 572. Never dynoed but calculates around 900hp. Been 9.02@149, 3345lbs.

If i can get 650 to 700 hp and really good torque i will be very happy.Doesn't matter as much what year block as how thick the cylinder wall is. Recently saw one that broke. Wall was about .100". 800 is really pushing a 440. 800hp 500" is tough to hit. Takes good ported -1 , Victor or better, stiff compression. .750"+ lift, 7500+ rpm. Good luck. My bet if you do make 800 it may break the stock block. I've broke them at 700 w/aluminum main caps and conservitive timing. Current engine is 572, 15-1, 285/292/.800", thin rings, vacuum pump, 7000rpm.

No, Chrysler CTC in the electrical lab. I LSM is close to my house though. Just like to build my own stuff. It's as much fun to me as racing. Engines, trans, axle, cage, sheet metal, wiring.Doug, do you happen to work for LSM engineering?

572 Mopar megablock,15-1, 285/292 on 112 lca .800", ported -1 Indy, Jessel belt, T&D 1.7 paired rockers, 7/16 Trend pushrods, Isky red zones bushed lifters, GZ vacuum pump. And now the real speed secret. Indy box ram with 2 nearly box stock Eddy 750's. On a side note: Canyon 707 did your new motor come from Al A?One of the baddest (in a good way) looking engine I've seen. Engine particulars in detail please !
