Success at painting detail on aluminum and chrome trim - finally

I was off a little. The way All Trim refinished mine - the headlight buckets are a semi-flat/gloss black with medium gray, metallic, textured argent bars. There is also a band of the medium gray around the outer edge in the recess. The grill bars were finished in medium gray argent. I’ll leave it to others with unrestored cars to say this is correct or not. I believe the same medium gray way used on the tail panel too.

The photos above are spot on for,the textured argent painting of these parts.
On Satellite and GTX grills and headlamp bezels.
Belvederes and Belvedere II are different paint, no texture.

AR67GTX and R413, thank you both for the detailed confirmations. I will need to track this down. It had been my idea to do all the painting myself, but painting that band all around the outside perimeter looks really tricky to achieve a pro-looking result.

So, the deck lid's tail panel has that large rectangle around the Plymouth name painted medium gray metallic also! All the online photos that I have seen do not show that, but it makes sense to enable the letters to stand out.

? - Any chance that you or anyone has the paint recipes for the medium gray metallic and metallic argent paints?

Flat silver. No texture on the doors

Only area on the grill that's painted are the vertical center bars .
Besides the mounting brckts on back side

Keep in mind New there were no tape lines
If you want to get true OE. Use an air brush with lots of practice

Dark textured argent paint.

All trim CEO will say he has obtained all of the last original PPG textured argent paints.
He will not tell you what it is or how to make it.

Hey again. Never mind about recipes. There are rattle cans in the aftermarket - both light and dark textured argent silver. At $30 per can kind of pricey but when you need it, you need it.

Here is a supplier for the various paints used on the Mopars. I believe that these paints started out being sold through Total Auto and then Charles picked the line up when Dave decided to leave the business.
