Well I feel sorry for the buyer and the one who authenticated the car as it was never an assembly line installation and apparently are educated on these cars. Dealer installed years later, very possibly. But far from ever being a factory option for that year model.

At least the guy with the panther pink 69 Bee showed us pics under the carpet and way back in the trunk where it looked to be a factory spray pattern and dated paint along with the "999" paint code.

I'd suggest as a start, this car should have close up pics of the trim and a thorough inspection of the way the trim is attached.

I also believe "Vw1" is not a valid tag code and could be a typo.

The format is "V1W" IIRC with V for vinyl, 1 for top and W for color.

I would expect something like "V2W" for an early "canopy" roof.
