As far as I know everything is still original. I had purchased the car after the original owner passed away. It sat in their garage from 1981 till I purchased a couple of years ago. Any recommendations for gearset? Thanks for replies
I used an Edelbrock many years ago, after over 30,000 miles the chain was still tight as when it was new.

FYI, you can rent a balancer puller/installer from the parts store. Don't use the balancer bolt to install the balancer unless it's a last resort.

Timing chain in the driveway is not bad. Check everything in there and water pump etc. The 1st time always takes a little longer.
