How many turns, on the torsion bar adjustment screws, does it take to lower the front end one inch ? -- Has a 440 motor, and a 727. -- Thanks

You really have to measure it when you do it. Alot of variables there.

When ever I did ride height adjustments I would put floor jacks under the framehorns to take weight off the adjusting screws.
FSMs are your friend and repros can be had for ~$50.

So you make torsion bar adjustments with the car on jack stands and wheels off the ground?

wheels don't have to be off the ground, you just want to take weight off so you can turn the bolts.. if you turn them without lifting the car a bit you are turning that bolt with the cars whole weight on them which is.. hard.. and hard on the bolt.

I usually lift the car a bit.. adjust.. lower it.. bounce it.. measure.. a few times, drive it remeasure and adjust as needed. Never found a 1 and done kinda way..
