I'm looking for any opinions for getting a watertight seal on a windshield install on my Charger. On previous cars, we have been able to reapply urethane in the bottom corners and taken care of leaks. My current Charger project is kicking our a$$ and getting myself and the glass guy very frustrated. He has been over 3 times now. He is going to pull it back out next week and start from scratch. All glass guys are using urethane now because the new windshields are part of the body structure (unlike our B-bodies) and this is more of a glue than the older butyl was. I have a leak on the drivers side around the gasket, and both corners between the glass and gasket. On the original install he laid a nice bead in each corner of the frame. The 2nd time, he added more and pushed it in with his plastic pry tool. On the last visit, I picked up a 3m product that was a little thinner than the urethane. He gooped this around the molding clips and also got a nice bead between the rubber and glass. I did a search and saw some guys are using 3m #08509 Bedding and Glazing compound instead of urethane. Any tricks of the trade would be greatly appreciated.
