Hi;
I wana build my own rotisserie because this item cant be found in my country! I got all the staff and jacks and tooling and will start next week. But I am wondering how to fix the body on it in a way I can easily rotate it for body work. How should I find the proper point for a balanced movement? And finally, how should I fix the body on the rotisserie? By bolts? Sorry, I have just seen the rotisserie pics and have no idea how it really works and I am an amature.

pretty sure they bolt the rear on through the rear bumper points and the front on via the front bumper mounts and then a centre on in the door hinge mounting points, correct me if i am wrong

I built my own, mine bolted to the factory bumper holes front and rear. I made a telescoping arm that could be slid up and down with several pin holes plus the attaching points also could be slid back and forth for different width cars. I simply lined up the pivot points where I felt the center of balance was then slid the arms inline with the bumpers and bolted them on. No problems at all, I'll look for a picture but it's lent out to a friend at the moment so I won't be able to snap a shot.

Thank you very much for the info. Pictures are highly appreciated, I'll copy you!

I know a gentleman who made his own, he actually converted a couple heavy duty engine stands...

Look on ebay motors for plans. They are on there.

I too have been thinking of building my own. Went to Bing and images, scrolled through tons of home made and factory units. Even entered my car on a rotissieri and saw images of '69 Coronet on one and where it bolts up. Gave me some great ideas of what I wanted as options on a set and what aspects are mandatory for ease of use and safety that you might not even think of. There are several sights where you can buy plans which include a materials list or just buy one already made. The options and grades of design are almost limitless. Good luck in your search.

I've built 6 of them so far for myself and 3 other people. Look here www.drblast.com and there's tons of pics there of my projects and many of the pictures have the Rotisseries in them. Also, here on this website fbbo look for my posts I've started, like my GTX and Satellite threads. Good luck!

Sorry couldn't find any good pics and like I said it's loaned out at the moment but it looks a lot like Auto Teach's using the large hyd jacks.

I've got an Iranian facebook friend who is a marketer for media blasting equipment and supplies, perhaps he can assist? Reza Bolandraftar, chairman of Iran Grit there in Tehran, maybe he can help.
