With the new(er) ceramic waxes, what is everyone using on cars that have the factory vinyl stripes? Are you applying the ceramic wax over the stripes or having to be careful to keep the wax off of the stripes to preserve the "matte finish" of the stripes? Curious to know because having smaller stripes next to the large stripe with color showing in between (think of a 71 Charger R/T stripe) waxing could be a bit tedious. If not using the ceramic waxes, what's the best to use on a car with the vinyl striping? Thanks in advance.

If the stripe is glossy the wax will still effect it a little but if you wax the whole stripe it'll probably be fine... If the stripe is mat/low glossy it'll show big time....

Another thing is if you wax up the the edge of the stripe you'll get wax residue on the edge of the stripe.... It generally doesn't buff off cleanly and leaves a white edge on the stripe... That can usually come clean with either a small brush or a toothpick...

Personally I usually use masking tape prior to applying wax....
