What’s best? Orig. Mopar setup or aftermarket proportioning valve?

I have my engine out and I’m considering switching to a simpler proportioning valve similar to the one below. Original system seems complicated and I’ve read not easily adjustable. What do you guys use?

I have power disc/drums.

Are you having a problem that you're trying to correct? If so, what is it?

Nope. Just thought now is the time to change it with the engine out.

My brake system is a custom bend and build.
4 wheel disc. I installed the proportioning
valve up by the master cylinder. It makes
adjusting the system much easier. If you
we're to do this it would require a straight
thru adapter/connector where your valve
is now. I'm getting old, and crawling
around on the concrete is not really
something I look forward to.
Careful with the valve your planning to
install. Brake fluid will eat that adjustment
knob. (note the aluminum one on mine!)

The one from Dr. Diff is as simple as it gets me thinks.
So is it as simple as removing all the components, installing a tee on the front lines and adding the prop valve to the rear line?

The stock prop valve is non-adjustable. The other block with the brake switch is useless. Get rid of all that junk and install an adjustable prop valve and a T for the front brakes. If you're thinking of a line-loc, now would be a good time to install that as well.

I REALLY like this setup

I'm using the original set-up on my 72 with power disc/drum. It works great.
No need to overthink or over-do it in my opinion.

Chrysler spent more on research them we will ever see to design a system that works and complied to about every idiot thing the consumer could do. So why mess with it unless you are planning on modifications to the system?

I use the original system used after 1-1–1970 with metering valve. Works great.
