What are your favorite instrumental songs?

March of the SOD was posted earlier.

That was used as "rejoin" for MTV's "Headbanger's Ball"

Here's the other song that was also used-

Here's one from way outside the box-

DJ Shadow. He has a couple albums out, I only own this one, they are hard to find original, but basically anything is available as a chinese restamp CD nowdays. This dates back into the 1990's.
This is sort of a hip hop/jazz/synthesized type, but it is pretty ambient. Part of why I like this fellow is he did this without computers. Nowdays the "mixers" have software, they just import MP3 clips and mess around and find stuff they like.
DJ Shadow plays drums. He recorded himself for a lot of the beats. He also made all his tracks by cutting tape and splicing, recording two at once, then cutting those and splicing.... the guy knew what he wanted before he made it, pretty much the opposite of now where they just experiment because it takes little effort to isolate and modify a sound clip.
Most of this album is the type of thing you put on in the background, it is not intrusive.
The full albumis called "Endtroducing" if anyone is interested in more tracks, it is on youtube if you look for it.
Note: does benefit from speakers that can play some low bass notes. He doesn;t use "rap boom" bass, just really low notes sometimes.
