Hi everybody:

what carb should a person use on a stock 383? I may want to put a bit of a cam in it but no headers and use the stock manifold. It's a 68 383 for a Coronet.

FWIW, IMO, on a stock 4bbl big block motor, headers are likely the biggest bang for buck single improvement upgrade possible that even might include a minor weight savings and mileage increase.

Depending on stock intake. 68/ 69 Carter AVS and 70-71 Holley 4160
Looks exactly like this one

For that application I’d run an avs from a 440. Run the exhaust at 2.5 from manifolds if the are the hp style. I’m not sure if you have hp ones or not. The factory ran 2.25 on the hp 383 to save a buck. Run the bigger one to match the outlet. If you have a lo po set it might not be possible.
