What did you do today....other than work on your car!?

Bought a Craftsman air compressor.
I bought one new in the box at an auction and sold it on CL. It was pretty old, but brand new. It seized up on the guy right away, but he wouldn't take his money back.
Saw one on CL this morning for $50, bought it, and I plan to deliver it this afternoon.

I sold the first one to him cheap since I bought it cheap and didn't want it taking up space. It bothered me. Golden Rule, but I'm keeping the hose. Can never have too many hoses.

Update: The old email I found was another interested buyer. Can't find the original guy, so I tested it by running non-stop for 2 hours then sold it for $50, hose and all.
I know where he works, but there are 100 employees. I don't know his name and can only describe him as 5' 8" and Polynisian looking. That's not going to happen.

A couple of months ago or so a neighbor 2 houses down put this out on the side of the road with the trash. Took me a bit to find the reset but that's all it needed and ran good. Only thing wrong with it was a broken gauge. Got 75 bucks for it....

Very consistent ammo. I know the shooter can be at fault for throwing a round now and then but when you find out it's the ammo doing it, arrrg!
I had that experience years ago with one handed pistol competition. Keep up the good shooting!
My home range has 70 outdoor pistol spots. We do a big shoot a week before the Camp Perry shoot off in July.

Went over my truck with a fine toothed comb looking for things that I can make Ford replace during my final prepaid service in the next three weeks .... when my 5 years is up and this thing is paid for in full. Not sure whether to be happy or sad... can't find anything worn out! Was kinda hoping for rotors and pads at least... but they're in too good of shape. Installed #1 Granddaughters first racing seat while I was at it!

Screw the Bee!
Took the youngest grandson(13) to the range for 100yd. contest. He was using a Kimber 82g that I got for Christmas years ago. 50 is perfect for each bullseye.
100yds is a real pain with a little wind!

Can't let my wife see that, she wants me to build her an enclosed sun porch! If she sees this,I will be digging too!
This digging BS ain’t for the faint of heart. Yea, it’s all sand…yea, until I got down to the gravel layer, then progress really slowed down. Worked till dark tonight, so no pics, but I’m ready for my footing inspection!

Should be doing firewood but it's raining so I'm enjoying some garage time. This is my current "when there's nothing else going on project". I've worked on 3 Wheeler's for people and of course test ridden them afterwards but never owned one.. always wanted one though. I guess to me they're just neat and for whatever reason they ride really smooth, that combined with the luggage racks, high/low/reverse and a hitch I just thought they'd be a fun little toy to get around the property on so I here it is. I saw it at a friend's house and inquired about it, soon after his wife wanted his crap out of the garage so it was offered up for free. It's a 1984 Honda ATC200ES Big Red.

It was rough, I've already replaced several sections of the rear frame, completely rebuilt the motor, rear end, straightened and added new tubing to the rear rack and replaced the pitted lower fork legs amongst many other things.

This was turned under and a press sweat fit sleeve made to repair the damage then turns to specs.

Chucking on a bearing fit without using soft jaw inserts? Doesn't look like it left any jaw marks...your jaws must have smooth 'teeth'.....

That side needed to be turned down and sleeved as well.

What I did yesterday that turned into today was go to the track with a buddy of mine and got together with another that I haven't seen in over 20 years! Got home 'this morning' at 1:15 and well, I'm beat. Did a ton of walking AND riding from the pit to the tower/starting line and saw several personal bests. The friend that I went with ran a 9.999 first pass with a new tune and other work on his 94 '318' Dakota and another friend of ours ran a best of 10.08 with a 71 Duster small block which was all old school. The guy with the Duster was pissed when he got to the track for some reason and it was the first time seeing him in all these years and thought maybe he didn't want to see me lol but that wasn't the case (mother in law and 9 year old son was fighting lol). The 94 Dakota ran a best of 9.91 on the 2nd pass after making a fuel adjustment. Another bud with an early Dakota RT reg cab ran a best of 11.37 with what looks more like my well used and abused stuff lol. Oh man....gotta get my dang car together!

Finally got a text from my sister in Florida who is in Venice. Her condo held up but got it pretty good. Then the stupid thing cam up and hit us. Been a stressful few days.

These storms are nothing but stressful! I stayed for Ike and man, it wasn't easy being a night storm. At 11pm the eye was over us and it lasted nealy 45 minutes. The first wisp of wind I felt I told my wife it was time to get back in the house. We were several houses down the street looking at all the small limbs from the oak trees that were on the ground and by the time we got back to the house, the winds were already were doing 35 or more.

A friend of mine has released skunks from these traps. He advised me to slowly approach and cover and relocate. Let it settle down, remove cover from door and slowly open. I used vice grips to keep the door open and slowly removed the sheet. Barely got it off and the skunk took off. WHEW!

Replaced the dang spindle on my mower again.

Same side.

Why do they look like they're designed to break real easy?

18 years on the OEM spindles, now 2 in less than 2 years.

On the bright side, it forced me to finish my mower ramps.

Also kinda looks like it was designed NOT to be fixed.
