What did you do today....other than work on your car!?

Movin' all that will make you acutely aware of how old you're not anymore.

...I'm fearful of scrapping steel, and even wood stock....you literally get pennies on the dollar, and if you need it in the future....

One piece can eat all your profit from the scrap sale.

I need to weigh that tire changer to see what the scrap value would be. I'm guessing about 16 to 24 bucks.

Surely someone want's it for about half of what I paid for it.

What do you want from life
To try and be happy
while you do the nasty things
you must

Well, you can't have that, but if you're an American citizen you are entitled to:
a heated kidney shaped pool,
a microwave oven--don't watch the food cook,
a Dyna-Gym--I'll personally demonstrate it in the privacy of your own home,
a kingsize Titanic unsinkable Molly Brown waterbed with polybendum,
a foolproof plan and an airtight alibi,
real simulated Indian jewelry,
a Gucci shoetree,
a year's supply of antibiotics,
a personally autographed picture of Randy Mantooth
and Bob Dylan's new unlisted phone number,
a beautifully restored 3rd Reich swizzle stick,
Rosemary's baby,
a dream date in kneepads with Paul Williams,
a new Matador,
a new mastadon,
a Maverick,
a Mustang,
a Montego,
a Merc Montclair,
a Mark IV,
a meteor,
a Mercedes,
an MG,
or a Malibu,
a Mort Moriarty,
a Maserati,
a Mac truck,
a Mazda,
a new Monza,
or a moped,
a Winnebago--Hell, a herd of Winnebago's we're giving 'em away,
or how about a McCulloch chainsaw,
a Las Vegas wedding,
a Mexican divorce,
a solid gold Kama Sutra coffee pot,
or a baby's arm holding an apple?
I see we have the same taste in music. :)

Started filing out the myriad of paperwork to continue the insurance on my shop complex.

It's almost as much fun as taxes.

...and almost a $700 increase.

YAY.

Didn't exactly "work" on the car. Took it out for the first test drive with the new AVS2, switched cars and met a friend from NY to hand off his 727 I recently completed for his 70 'Bee, helped watch inlaws 4 kids all under 14, got the car out again for an informal cruise at a local ice cream joint, cut grass, now enjoying a BEER.:drinks:

I havent started mine in 2 months, charge the battery every month tho---

The Tubes! I haven’t heard that song in years.

Correct.

Johnny, show him what he's won....

See how this could go....

Planted some rose bushes in the front yard this morning, as where i live in Northern California, were not under snow as up in the Sierra's.

Technically I didn't work on my "car" today. I serviced my 04.5 Cummins 3500. 3.5 gallons of Amsoil 15-40 Signature series oil, both the engine and bypass filters[ Amsoil], both of my fuel filters[ have an Airdog unit, use Baldwin for the water and Donaldson for particulate] and a new Wix air filter. Plus a pair of wiper blades.

Busted *** again moving stuff around in the shop/storage units.
Started stripping some doors to scrap.
Hung a new mower deck shell up on a wall to save the floor space.
Planned to do the same with a 48x48 drop trap.
Started reorganizing my alignment tools since I have a couple new ones, they need a better home.
Put all my trailer/towing supplies/tool in the same space.

Pretty good progress.

Took a break to go to an "estate sale" down the road.

Metal warehouse building on 1/2 acre that was formerly a "small engine repair" shop that never had any cars out front.
Had a new driveway poured with parking spaces about a year ago, then immediately sold.
I've been curious about that building for a long time.
Apparently they also own the acre lot next door.
New owners are an industrial garage door company that also does estate sales (interesting combination).
Tool and supply stuff outside for sale, some single items, some bundles in tubs.
Crazy stuff inside, all laid out. Sports memorabilia, glass and pottery, movie posters, coca-cola stuff, O gauge trains, sound reinforcement equipment, vintage record players, heavy tools ov varying quality.

Unfortunately things were priced 80-90% of retail. Not a lot of stuff moved while I was there.
I did see a couple bargains though and might go back.
A couple crimp on electrical connector end cases. One about laptop sized, one suitcase sized. $10 and $20.
Might be set for life, with the big one. WAY more than that new.
A tub outside with an unidentified industrial part that looked like a motor, but wasn't and about 20 knockout cutters in various sizes, and some round steel washer like spacers.
$20. Not sure why they did that, as they had the same greenlee brand knock-out cutters inside, priced for $15- $75 each, or just under retail.
Probably should have bought that.
