What did you do today....other than work on your car!?

I have some fiber wheels and a few diamond blades that I used to cut ceramic tiles. Yes I have had some issues over the years with trailering to the Keys.

Replaced a leaking trim piston on my 275 Verado today, another thing to add to my resume. Didn't spill a drop of fluid and no special tools needed. Angle grinder spanner fit perfect. Bonus was where I blocked up the boat and trailer back in the Fall couldn't have been better if I'd planned it!

Nice. Both of my trim rods don't have anything on the ends. I couldn't get the tool with just two prongs to stay connected well enough to break the cap loose. I ended up getting this tool for about 20 bucks and it worked great.

I actually used a punch and 5 lb to break them loose... then the spanner.

Took off doing much today but went to see if the USS Kearsarge would be close enough to shore....but passing by the Seabrook Shipyards, I saw that it was docked there! Drove in but the public wasn't allowed to get very close to the ship and couldn't take pics either. It was probably 200 yards away but the side view was full. Pretty impressive. Probably could have taken a pic at the entrance which was about another 100 yards but didn't want to take the chance. And man, the truck traffic is horrible there and along hwy 146 heading north road construction just makes matters worse.

When I worked security near the port of LA I would sometimes see huge ships like that, but for shipping, not military, and approaching it in the patrol car would always mess with my sense of scale seeing the people look like ants on it.

Anyway I spent part of today playing with AI to throw together a video game idea I've had. This AI tool will just create the files on my machine and check them into my github etc, basically I can follow most of the proper processes for software dev work. I figure it may help to show in a job interview as a working example of what I do.

Then I got a wild idea and looked around, looks like I could possibly generate some income with the game which even if its a few bucks is cool in principal.
For any of you that are curious here is a video of what I have so far, its just a proof of concept so no real graphics/sounds etc yet. The concept is you are trying to feed stray cats (a theme in my life) and not get tripped by them. For extra points you capture and get the cats fixed.

I got my Scat Pack out for the first time in ‘26 this afternoon.
I did check the battery, that doesn’t count as working on your car does it?
It’s been raining here constantly, yet another storm on the way this evening, and I’d suspended the insurance in early December. I didn’t bother calling to reinstate until yesterday, as why pay insurance if it’s raining all the time and I don’t want to take it out of the garage?
I drove it to the liquor store a half hour away instead of the same chains store a mile away, just to get the cobwebs off it.
Cut part of my lawn with a duct taped together old electric mower that was a hand me down from my late dad. I have a 2 cycle mower, so every spring I delay going to the trouble of mixing gas and seeing if it’ll still start, and use that plug in hooptie until the whole yard is growing evenly.
With all this rain I will need to get off my butt and mix up some 2 cycle gas very soon!

Plugged in the replacement, reflashed the computer to clear all codes and make sure it'll work before we go any further. Good to go!

Checking toe on the old, before removing it. Kid might have the same DNA as the old man!
