what do i have 440

Hi, Iam new today,,, what do i have,, here is what i know it is a 440.. block pad reads 6T 440 E under that is 4 5 - and the head is 4006457. block casting is 4006630 440-2.date 2 12 76. and??? would a 1965 383 commando have more hp. than this 440??? Thank You emile ps the front pully has the dome style weight.

A stock running 440 will produce more horsepower than a stock running 383.

This is from the 1975 parts book but the same information applies to a 1976 model year block. The block was cast on February 12, 1976. Is there a VIN number on a pad on the passenger's side?

A good running 440 will always be more satisfying than a 383. I've had both. Longer stroke, more torque is always better.

Welcome aboard. Both motors are nice, both have more potential. I'll say go with more cubes 440
