What was the first car you remember falling in love with?

I know the exact moment I became a car guy. '62 Thunderbird. I was 6 years old. I was playing in a sandbox, and the neighbor had a toy model of this car. Before that toy cars were just lumps of pot metal or wind up toys with details printed on them. I had a toy Ford with the wind-up retractable top but I didn't love it.

As for as Mopars. 1971 at the drive-in theater, watching Vanishing Point.

My uncle’s 67 4-speed GTX. I was 16 and he was going to sell it to me for $150 and I could pay him later. She was tired and a little rough around the edges, but still managed 110 mph with the pedal about an inch off the floor. I cleaned her up, painted it Omaha Orange, and changed the clutch. Then my dad tried to get insurance with me as a secondary driver. Insurance man said “ We won’t insure a 16 year old in a Datsun with a 4-speed, let alone that thing”. I was crushed, had to give it back to my uncle. He traded for a ‘61 Ford pickup with my retard cousin who wrecked it. Silver lining, I picked up my ‘68 Bee 2 months later for $400.

For me, seeing a 1970 Plymouth Cuda, back in September 1970.
Must have just been purchased.
I probably looked at the car for 15 minutes or more.
Then in 1971, i ordered a Cuda, and kept it for 39 years.

Worked at a gas station in '65 as a kid. Owners son, who was the mechanic there, had a '57 Vette 283, 3-speed. That car sounded incredible, like nothing I heard before. Cam making it jump around. Beautiful red with a white cove and tan interior. Riding in it was not good, but the car looked great. Like this

I had to discover Mopars on my own, it didn't take long........ My first car was a 68 Chevelle, SS hood, 350 4 sp, and a Cal Custom foot gas pedal...... nailed a babe in that car first weekend on the road......it has a special place in my memory bank

There were many I liked, but the "one" was the '69 GTX owned by the local Plymouth dealer. Possibly the most heavily optioned '69 built, and his personal car for 15 years. I finally bought it, 52 years after a test drive in 1970.
It's the last Mopar I plan on owning, there's nothing I'd trade for it. Original owner's son passed all the dealership documents and memorabilia to me. His son will get the car when I'm gone.
