I would have been 13 when a local bought a new '66 Mustang. Powder blue, 4 speed and he promptly put 4 chrome reverse wheels on it. Lookin' at that car we thought life couldn't get any better!
I still have my 70 Charger R/T that I bought in 1981.Still have it, was 8 yrs old driving with my dad when we saw it at a gas station with a For Sale sign in the front window.

A buddy of mine had a 58....that car rode much worse than my dad's 65 Chevy pickup that had the heavy duty springs in the back.Worked at a gas station in '65 as a kid. Owners son, who was the mechanic there, had a '57 Vette 283, 3-speed. That car sounded incredible, like nothing I heard before. Cam making it jump around. Beautiful red with a white cove and tan interior. Riding in it was not good, but the car looked great. Like this

Nice, do you still have it?My parents got their 70 Charger R/T SE in late 1970.
I don't have their car, they sold it in 1981. They wouldn't sell it to me,so I bought the yellow one.Nice, do you still have it?
My elder son's first word was 'car'My first word was "truck".
...at least I think it started with a "T".

Sorry to hear that, i guess our parents had good taste in cars! My dad bought a 70 Charger 500 with a 383 2bl new in 1970 which I drove in high School. Didnt keep that one when he passed in 2009. But i kept the Hemi Charger .I don't have their car, they sold it in 1981. They wouldn't sell it to me,so I bought the yellow one.
In late 69 I fell in love with the E body cars but was disenchanted with all the plastic and the doors sounded like crap when they shut. Got over that after awhile and bought my first one in 74....a 72 340 Rallye Pac with 40k miles for 1800 iirc. Didn't keep it long though. Had a flat on the left front and the lugs nuts were so tight I couldn't get any of them off. Well, they were right handed but the LR was left handed so got to looking deeper and found evidence of it being in a wreck. Live and learn. Was 7 in 58 and the Edsel came out.....went ape over it and the local dealer was giving away friction motor cars and I had to have one. Dad hated Ford products and didn't want to take me to 'get that promo' car but he relented and I got that car.
