I finally received the seat bracket I ordered November 2024. I ordered two Scat Rally 1000 seats and brackets for my Coronet from Summit Racing. The first 3 parts arrived within a week or so. Apparently, Scat has been having issues with their US based supplier.

How long have you waited for your parts?

Waited over 6 months for Legendary seat covers. Might have been more like 8 months but it's a longgggggggg time. Good quality though.

Waited several months for a couple of rear sway bars from Firm Feel, and that was after they charged my credit card immediately upon ordering. Not cool in my mind.

I ordered a fender bolt kit for 68-69 B-bodies July 4, 2024 from Jegs. Had pretty much given up on it. Well, it showed up in the mail a few days ago. Had threatened to cancel the order but never got around to do it and the pretty much forgot that I ordered the kit. Obviously, I was not in any hurry to get it but sure was glad I finally did. I bought this car around 2005 and have been buying parts to restore it ever since. Probably never finish it but what the heck.

I bought a pair of Satellite fender scripts from Year One several years ago. I don't remember the total wait time, but it was well over a year, probably 18 months or so. I'd forget about them and then they'd send me a postcard about every 6 months telling me they were still backordered and giving me the chance to cancel, but I wasn't in a hurry since my original ones aren't terrible. I'm guessing they waited until they had enough orders to order a run from their supplier. Still haven't put them on lol.

I waited two years for a set of wheels from summit. When they finally became available they were charging me more than double. I told them to stick the wheels up their ***.

I waited a year to get an Edelbrock AMC intake before I cancelled the order and got a refund.

Also I used to order billet AMC crankshafts from China and those took 13-months to get.

Ordered a topend kit for a bbc from speedmaster's black friday sake (late November, obviously).
It arrived late March.
I think they may have been hoping I would cancel my order.... but the stuff was SOOOOO cheap, there was no way that was gonna happen.
A couple years later, I ordered a custom 9" center from black friday.... and it arrived a full month earlier than I expected.

It seemed like these would NEVER come.

581 days.

I ordered a used item from a FABO member in NY state and it took almost 4 weeks to arrive. It was promptly shipped USPS (post office) and they routed it to Massachusetts, then I think Connecticut, then Missouri, then to Indianapolis where it sat for 2 weeks. Finally it arrived in Ohio, only 2 states away from origination.

I also ordered a simple $10 item from Amazon for my grandson's birthday that shipped from the east coast to Ohio. Inexplicably it was routed through Indianapolis again and got lost. It was ordered 2 weeks in advance of and finally after 4 weeks I requested a refund. I guess the small business had to eat the cost. Funny that while these things sat in Indy I was getting almost daily status updates from USPS.

I googled Indianapolis post office and there were so many complaints the state of Indiana had to investigate. They had built a very expensive state-of-the-art facility but the workers were completely demoralized due to administrative problems. So many employees quit that most things just sat around forever because they were under-staffed. A deep bureaucratic black hole.

Please DOGE, look at the USPS!
