Hi, I'm saving for some TTI Headers for my 318 poly and want to get the mini starter that is required for them to fit.
TTI's website lists the following options:
Chrysler R53005984 or 56027702AC
Mopar Performance P5249644AB or P5007860

Has anyone bought a mini starter for their 318 poly and can recommend the exact starter they got and where they bought it? As I'm in Australia I can't just drive down to the local parts store and shipping is very expensive so I want to get the right part the first time.

Cheers

I always use the 2000 Dodge Dakota V8 mini.64 Poly 318 left hand driver side steering.

Ok thanks for that - any chance you could tell me which make starter it is and maybe even part no.? If I search 2000 Dodge Dakota mini starter I get a lot of options from Autozone, Rockauto etc. Lot of different makes, and some look slightly different to others (which might make a difference for header clearance).
Thanks again.

I bought 2 at different times, one for a 383, one for a 318 poly, both identical to the Dakota starter but different name brands.
I just bought the one that was cheapest at the time.

This was the one I bought for the 318, can't say it was the same price at the time or not:

Autozone is a block from my shop so I use them often. I have their part numbers. DLG 17677 or a 17084N . The DLG 17677
is the one in the photo. The car is a 64 Belvedere 318 poly.

Thanks fellas, that's exactly.what I needed.

Having rebuilt the poly with TTI's, 3" exhaust, and the necessary mini-starter, say goodbye to that ever so classic sound of a mopar starter I always liked. Back when all ya needed to do was hear the sound of the starter cranking and know if it was Ford, GM, or Chrysler.

Old TV shows used the Chrysler sound for almost everything !

Remember that; but also had watched a few where the mopar sounded like a Ford starting too. Bad sound effects.
